Authentic and homegrown to the core,
The Heights is part hangout, part hideout.
We proudly serve Lakewood throughout the day and night –
breakfast, lunch and dinner - with a chef driven menu and full coffee and bar service.
Cary Ray has been a long time resident and restaurant operator in East Dallas,
including the Lower Greenville icon Daddy Jack’s Lobster and Chowder House. In 2007,
Cary collaborated with fellow East Dallas denizen, Derek Welch (aka Ricki Derek) on
the critically acclaimed Scat Jazz Lounge in Sundance Square, Fort Worth.
Derek has been a staple in the Dallas music scene for over 20 years. Considered
a crooner with his big band sound, he performs all over but prefers to stay close to his
Junius Heights home. As a result of their successful partnership, Ray and Welch
carefully conceived a unique local establishment, far away from all the chains, in the
eclectic Dallas neighborhood of Lakewood.
Executive Chef Karin Porter came to The Heights by way of The Grape restaurant on
Lower Greenville. Karin uses classical techniques to elevate humble comfort
food into accessible, well-executed classics. The burgers are treated with just as much respect
and care as the filet of beef. Everything from the pickles, dressings and
sauces, to the soups, pastries and desserts are made in house from scratch daily.
